Review of Mosaic by David Wahler
It is not always easy to understand the soul of a particular piece of music. Just like reading a poem where you are delivered a different surface-level meaning, leaving the deeper and more intricate objective to a more serious or attentive reader, a song can have a dual effect. But if you get the chance to catch the real beauty of the art-piece, there is nothing more liberating or fulfilling.
David Wahler’s album ‘Mosaic’ is of that nature. From the title, it sounds like any regular collection of music tracks with different rhythms and tunes. Yet, it is truly a treasure trove of soulful melodies. Every song takes you a different place of existence. It is one of the best soothing and relaxation music collection I have ever heard. David has used to effect of slow tempo to the best possible way. This is using an instrument’s versatility to its best!

There are various moods in the album that you will notice immediately at the beginning of a particular song. The collection of 11 songs has the power to enchant the listener for a full hour.
Natural sounds, soft vocals, and different effects of the keyboard are visible (or audible) and render the intended impact effectively. The lull between the notes is amazing, and so is the choice of ambient sounds. It sounds like a full orchestra is in play!
My favorite track of the album is ‘August Cloud.’ It has a very unique sense of rhythm.
I congratulate David for answering his soul’s call so beautifully because it is not every day that you end up creating something so unique. He has channeled the sonic beauty of the universe through his album.
